MPP Mike Colle to Propose Bill to
Recognize June 4th as Tom Longboat Day
Thomas Charles Longboat was not only one of the most celebrated and accomplished athlete in Canadian history, but also one of the world’s greatest long-distance runners. He helped establish marathon running as an International Sport and won marathons in record breaking times, beating competitors from all over the world.
MPP Mike Colle (Eglinton-Lawrence) will be proposing a private members bill to the Ontario Legislature to have June 4th (Longboat’s birth date) recognized at “Tom Longboat Day”.
